This is kinda cool. John Anderson, aka Dr. Sleep has reopened his Doom Website Dr Sleep's DOOM Apothecary. I haven't visited an updated version of this web page since the mid 1990s. It's kinda odd that old(er) games such as Doom are still going as strong as before. Especially with the advent of the release of the source code allowing people to write new versions of the game engine.
I've recently begun, with whatever spare time I have nowadays, to designing Doom levels again. For a while, I couldn't find an editor that would run under Windows XP, but Doombuilder fits the bill better than anything I could have imagined. It's easier and faster to make new environments to explore and, well, Doom in.
In other news, the new house is on the horizon and I'm looking forward to getting settled in. That will likely happen in a couple of months.
